We comply with the Act on Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations as well as the Asunaro Law Office Rules on Management of Personal and Confidential Information with regard to personal information collected and retained by the Office. We handle such information appropriately in accordance with the following provisions.

  • 1. Purposes of use of personal information

    Personal information collected and retained by the Office is used for the following purposes:

    (1) For the execution of litigation entrusted to us, responding to consultation, and associated communication and administrative processing

    (2) To send newsletters, information on the Office and seminars and other events, and greetings and for other purposes of providing information on the Office

    (3) To respond to various inquiries and other communications

    (4) To check for any conflicts of interest in cases entrusted to us

    (5) For employment (including hiring) and personnel management

    (6) For other purposes to promote smooth and appropriate Office operations

  • 2. Restrictions on provision to third parties

    We will not provide nor disclose personal information collected to third parties except in the following cases:

    (1) When the user has consented to such provision in advance

    (2) When doing so pursuant to laws and regulations

    (3) When doing so is necessary to protect human life, health, or property and it would be difficult to obtain the user's consent

    (4) In cases other than those under (1)-(3) above, as authorized under the Act on Protection of Personal Information

  • 3. Security measures for personal information

    To prevent leakage, loss, or damage to personal information, we manage such information appropriately through our office's internal management systems and employee training and take necessary and appropriate preventive measures.

  • 4. Client identity verification

    To prevent money laundering and for other purposes, we may verify the identity of new office clients in accordance with the Japan Federation of Bar Associations rules and regulations on client identification and records (enacted March 1, 2013). Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated.

    Examples of verification:

    ・ Individual clients: Checking name, address, and date of birth on certificates of seal registration, driver's licenses, passports, health insurance cards, pension handbooks, alien registration certificates, etc.

    ・ Corporate clients: Checking the address of the head office or main office through certification of registration and other information related to corporate registration
